Step 1: Prepare and test the engraving
Place your material and adjust the head height using the guide provided with the laser.
Connect the Yumi L-A4 laser.
Perform an engraving test.
Adjust the dimensions according to your material (in mm).
Position the laser head so that it is positioned on the material , keeping in mind that the engraving will start from the bottom left corner .
The ideal settings are those that produce a black, clean, and uniform engraving—without burning or pitting. Consider noting them down for future use.
Step 2: Start the final engraving
Open your engraving file and pay attention to the number of lines per mm . This directly affects the final quality of your engraving. (Adjust according to the material).
Enter the optimal parameters you obtained previously, as well as the dimensions.
Note: The origin—the point from which the head will begin its movements—is represented by the yellow cross. Manually move the laser head to position it exactly where you want it.
Place the cork disc on the edge of the honeycomb grid and position the head at the correct height using the guide.
The GRBL laser allows you to see the rectangular boundary of movement to ensure the engraving is within the desired area. This will help us center our coaster. It is also possible to turn the laser on at 3% of its power.
Activate the beam and position it at the base of the honeycomb .
If you do not have one, use the button located to the right of the planet and place the head approximately in the center of the disc .
Perform a perimeter test to verify correct positioning: the beam should just touch the outer edges of the cork disc, without going outside of them. If it's not perfect, move the head until you get an ideal result.
Start the engraving.
The result: a unique cork coaster
In just a few minutes, you can have a personalized coaster : natural, elegant, and above all, unique . Laser engraving on cork is an excellent way to bring your creative ideas to life, with a professional finish accessible to everyone.
