PETG filament (polyethylene terephthalate combined with glycol) is an alternative filament to the famous ABS: it offers quite similar resistance, while offering the simplicity of printing of PLA. Thanks to PETG, you can print mechanical parts easily, without having the constraints characteristic of ABS.

PETG is derived from PET, which is a material widely used in industry, found in the manufacture of packaging or plastic bottles, making it a filament compatible with food contact. It is also 100% recyclable.

PETG is characterized by its high impact resistance, its significant hardness, its resistance to chemicals, its significant transparency (for transparent filaments), its resistance to torsion and finally, its good thermal stability.

Wanhao PETG is equipped with NoJAM technology which prevents nozzles from clogging and limits, or even eliminates, stringing, these very fine threads which can appear when the nozzle moves between two parts of the print.

Wanhao PETG offers very good surface continuity between layers and extrusion will be constant thanks to its perfectly uniform diameter throughout the reel. It is therefore compatible with all FDM 3D printers on the market, including all-metal print heads.

• Special information for printing: Be careful to minimize the need for supports: PETG has good adhesion, which could make removal of some supports difficult. Also consider printing a little softer than PLA, especially the first layer.
